Youth Groups

Youth groups meet at 10 am on Sunday mornings.

Our 6th through 12th graders follow the Journey to Adulthood curriculum, which comprises of three youth groups:

  • Rite 13: 7th / 8th grade

  • J2A: 9th / 10th grade

  • YAC: 11th / 12th grade

Holy Communion

Although all baptized children may receive communion, we offer a Holy Communion class for third grade and higher to teach them about the Holy Eucharist and to start building the blocks of understanding.

Classes are scheduled to start in March each year, with a celebration in May.

Confirmation

As per the Journey to Adulthood curriculum, we encourage teenagers to consider confirmation during their 4th year of youth group.

As an alternate option, teenagers may choose to be confirmed at the Cathedral after Easter or after Christmas. In these cases, confirmation classes are one-on-one, and scheduled as needed.

Our next youth confirmation class will be in the Spring of 2012

Youth Mission and Pilgrimage 2012

Youth Mission and Pilgrimage 2012

Plans are made and fundraising is underway for Summer 2012. Holy Cross Students will travel to Wind River Reservation to aid and assist the needy. Our Rite 13 group will scrape, paint, and do minor repairs to community homes and work with children at a Kids’ Club. We seek missions not only to help others but to renew students’ commitments to Christ which are strengthened through the vehicle of Mission work. Our middle group, J2A, will head to Stehekin Valley Ranch to find the gift of deeper understanding and meaning of their faith. They will use the tools of journaling, one-on-one sharing, whole group sharing, prayer and meditation to enrich their lives and spiritual journeys.
