Nursery

Newborn babies through 3 year olds are welcome in the nursery.

The nursery hours are from 9:45am to 11:30 every Sunday throughout the year.

Nursery care may be provided for ministry events, as requested.

CHILDREN’S ACTIVITY TIME -

Children will begin in church on special Sundays throughout the school year.

The children will follow their leaders to the Sunday School Building after the gospel.

The lesson will be based on the lectionary readings.

Picture books will be chosen to reinforce the lesson in a way that applies to their lives and makes them

wonder about God in the world.

There will also be time to play games, do crafts and hang-out in a safe supervised environment.

As always, children are welcome to worship with their parents and will find activities, small toys and books in the SE corner of the sanctuary.

Holy Communion

Although all baptized children may receive communion, we offer a Holy Communion class for third grade and up every two years to teach them about the Holy Eucharist and to layer the building the blocks of understanding.

Holy Communion instruction begins in early winter and culminates with a celebration on Mother’s Day. A series of ten classes led by Jan Langton present a foundation of the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Our next class will be offered in February , 2018.

Confirmation

Confirmation curriculum will be offered to our Middle School Youth Group beginning in January. We invite participation and leave the decision for confirmation to the student after he/she has completed the course of study. We will join the entire Diocese for Confirmation at St. Mark’s Cathedral in late Spring. Private confirmation class mentoring will be made available by request for older students. Our next class is tentatively scheduled for 2019. Individual instruction may be an option for some older students.

Safeguarding God’s Children

Attention all nursery, children’s and youth volunteers, vestry and staff!

Bishop Rickel is committed to ensuring the safety of all our children and to that end has instituted the requirement of the in-person training program, Safeguarding God’s Children as well as background checks.

This mandate is for all active clergy, all paid employees, and any persons regularly working with youth such as Sunday school teachers, substitutes, Music leaders and Nursery attendants to attend once every five years. Please find one of the upcoming sessions available throughout the Diocese listed at our Diocesan web site www.ecww.org.
